libbo, being the nickname somebody gave to my libido (might have been me too) long ago with some influence from the marx brothers and the animaniacs (libbo is attracted to a sense of humour that finds them amusing, along with monty python and robin williams, at least), sometimes wakes up when glancing up al the tv and on lost girl i noticed emmanuelle vaugier and she was instantly was added to libboland (the online place where libbo keeps track of attractions... you'll just have to find a link to it elsewhere in my written gardens cuz this is background tv, after all... did i mention libbo likes to tease?)... anyway, i thought to myself, wow, how did i miss her over the years (she's been on tv for more than a decade in shows i've occasionally glanced at... now i want to rent some of her films, hysteria, for instance... nudity attracts libbo too when it's the right person)...
and then there's the olympics and that's probably going to be the predominent background tv for the next two weeks because jackson loves it and i enjoy it too... once upon a time i watched the entire olympics... i was very close to elvis that year, but that's another story... anyway, i was watching one of the commercials and have i mentioned just how adorably attractive sean johnson's face is?... as old people used to say about babies, i could eat her up... i wonder if those old people ever realized just how much double entendre is in that phrase... hopefully sean johnson doesn't mind that she's libbos favorite gymnast (and libbo loves gymnasts)...
you might think that the two looks and personalities mentioned here are far apart and perhaps they are in some ways, but for libbo, both possess the qualities for arousal... no wonder i have not found anybody nearby who moves libbo to want to share wild passionate sex or cuddling, even... even if porn was on tv, porn leaves much to be desired... there is a lot on tv that libbo likes to watch... in fact, most of my favorite shows have something or someone for libbo to enjoy, not just physical (faces, bodies, etc) but humor too (i mentioned that above in case you didn't notice... a bit of understated sarcasm does it for libbo too, by the way)... but libbo isn't always sure of what libbo likes, for instance libbo looks at the little chinese girl lifting more than twice her body weight and doesn't know what to think... anyway, one of these days maybe i'll tell you more about libbo, but for now, i'll keep glancing up at the tv for amusement, arousal, and assorted odd distractions...
how about you? :)

psych
i actually really like psych... it is the right amount of silly (lots) and serious (a little) and sentimental (gushing at times) and imaginative to keep me interested in the middle of the night... the multiple movie and music influences... the cris-cross of corn and cleverness in the writing (ok, more corn tham cleverness, but still, fun)... and the guest cast includes cary ewles, a favorite, and ally sheedy in a real spooky role, and others i enjoy... and after a night of episodes i have the serious crush on maggie lawson... face and body, yum, i mean, respectfully yummy... seriously, i mean, i know it's just a momentary fantasy crush, but from libbo to the heartbeats i am smitten, at least for tonight... she has just the right about of vulnerability and cuteness and sensuality in that character (of course she could be very different in life, but we are not in life on tv, are we and that is what this blog is about, tv-life)...

instant eh...
ok, so i took the day off and am relaxing and wrote most of the morning and decided it was time for lunch and since there was nothing on tv and tv keeps me company when i am eating alone, i decided to check out the in demand stuff and found once upon a time, a new show i wanted to see and so, on it went...
that was about five minutes ago...
and here i am already, the first scene turned me off enough to come here and put the tv where it usually resides, in the background... alas, leave it to tv writers to start out programmed and predictable and standard and unfortunately, formula...
. . .
scene two appeals a but more because i love the main character's face (a favorite from house... i never watched how i met your mother cuz i am not much into formula sit-coms and i didn't know she was associate producer on glee which surprised me) and while i don't like the over-done naivety of the teacher (i never watched the stuff she's been in, ed or big love, so she is brand new to me), i love her face too, so there may be some hope as faces are a primary attraction for me to continue watching something and there is the appropriately named mr. gold (rumplestilskin) who played a good love-hate character on star trek:universe and has been in a bunch of films, but they need much better writers to really become what i would have hoped this sort of idea could become and it is a wonderful idea...
it'll take more suspension of reality than it should (because of the poor writing and mediocre acting, especially of the male lead and evil witch - so far), but i will probably give this show a show if only in on-demand when i have time and in the background... would be more fun with a tv-watching partner of course...
i think i'll put the last four episides of fringe on in the background now...

almost famous
so much passes through this head from the background tv that is on now more than ever since jackson moved away as the sound keeps me company and occasionally there is something on i actually want to watch and so the football and the repeats of ncis and all the sci-fi shows and so much more amuses me and keeps me company but tonight, i realized that i have forgotten (not anymore, cuz i just remembered, at least one part) how much some films move me, inspire me, and are a part of my favoritest experiences in this life (when shared with someone or even just a film powerful enough to move me and be something i very much want to share with someone) and this is one...
besides, it has four of my favorite faces in it and three of libbo's favorite fantasies (of course i don't love it just for that superficial reason, but oh, if i could have only been there with them in some alternate reality where we were all friends and meant something to eat other and comfort and care for each other and... ok, you get the picture, whatever that picture might be in your mind... wouldn't you love to know what is really in mine lol... just have to climb under the covers for long enough to figure out how to show me you really want to know :)
the trouble is, tv ruins film... tv edits to fit allotted time... tv edits for content... tv edits to fit the screen... tv changes the story, the meanings, the power of film... tv destroys film... but we won't get into that for this moment and attempt to maintain the magic...
what?... yes, i refer to almost famous and the kid who reminds me of what's his name from sliders, i think and frances mcdormand who chooses some of the most interesting films in her career, and kate hudson, anna paquin, zooey deschanel (libbo refers to the last three faces each appearing in the top ten of the all-time libbo faces at one time or another and perhaps the highest rated libbo face film in the history of filmaking, perhaps... you'll just have to get under the covers to find out how much i am laughing with you and how much i am laughing at myself and how much i am laughing at the world {you?... that's up to you} that will never understand me... anyway, what was this about?)...
we must remember this...
remembering the days people actually waited at the airport right by the gate for someone to actually leave on a jet plane as in watching the plane taxi away from the gate, waving at the person as they look back at you through the tiny window on the plane, and then watching the plane gather speed down the runway and take off into the air...
remembering when dreams were shared...
remembering always...

the voice
ok, i am biased, but i have adored dia frampton since before she was legal when i saw her grinning like a kid in a candy store at warped tour after knocking out a set of rock and roll that had such a unique twist the crowds surrounded the myspace tent to try to see who was making those beautiful sounds... and now, as if i was clairvoyant (or just lucky to be in the right place at the right time), i am watching dia in the finals on the voice, a commercially packaged singing contest that has some great talent and i am torn...
leave meg and dia behind?...
a few years ago i told dia she needs to be ready to shoot the moon, to be touched by an angel, to skyrocket to fame (or shyrocket, to be dia and play with words) and i hoped she'd be ready, that she would not let fear or insecurity or self-doubt get in her way... and that she would find a way to stay in touch with her roots, to not let fame shake her from her core...
the moment is approaching fast...
there will be no losers on this show, but winning will be the zoom, the moment... will she be torn away from her family and friends and how will that affect her?... will she be sucked into the adoration and usery that has abused and destroyed so many?... please no... i wish with all my heart that she finds an anchor, a link to herself that cannot be broken... a way to not get hurt... it is not too late (i won't believe it, even after all the experiences)...
all this from background tv?...
lol, lam, laa...
go dia :)

never liked leno
not from the very beginning, his humor was patronizing and condescending and his insecure ego always spoiled his comedy for me, but then, that could just be my imagination... or my perception, being me and all... anyway, tonight he again showed me why i don't watch him even though i used to love the tonight show... it was so obvious that nbc forced the four finalists from the voice on him as he disregarded and dismissed their performances with a cursory calling of their name introduction and then leaving them unmentioned (and even cutting them off) when he went back to talking with his guests... he is such a turn off for me that i don't even watch when someone i like is on his show because he ruins it for me with his disrespect and phoniness... and he did it again tonight... he won't be on the tube again by my choice...
dia, meanwhile, was so nervous, stiff, and incongruous... they dress her up like a conservative little kid from the sixties and then she sings an alternative anthem from the nineties on a show for grandmothers, definitely not good marketing... she should have done a song from the audience's generation or at least a throw-back like time after time that javier did... oh well, another blown opportunity cuz she just isn't ready, but someday, hopefully, she will get it and her magic will burst out just right...
i can see it, which is why i watch her... even on leno :)

little interest of late
house was in the background for the last few hours as i started unpacking the kitchen stuff, but since there's not enough room for even half of our stuff, we'll have to decide what goes into storage when jackson has time to sort through the non-food stuff with me...
and i flip through the channels as i sit down and look up and see a favorite face (nicole deboer) in a really bad movie (unfortunately, she's done a whole lot of really bad movies, which slides her down the list of libbo fantasies, but there is so little interest in tv in my head tonight that it's ok...
on the old movies station there is the wizard of oz followed by gone with the wind (and i wonder if casablanca will be on to make it a 1939 movie trilogy) and hundreds of other stations offer hundreds of other video fair, but interest is not there, so i'll just leave it on in the background while eating the sandwich jackson brought home for me and so it goes, ya know?...
she was never high on libbo's list, but heidi klum's on-camera personality is adorable in that show with kids... her on-camera personality reminds me a little of kelly ripa... they over-do it at times, but they both do cute really well... in the nackground, of course :)
