the fear of nudity and more, the fear of not being perfect, especially not being in a perfect body (whatever that is) by current human standards completely dominates almost every media presentation and human activity... i can sometimes, when sleepy and easily distracted (and that does tend to happen), appear fascinated by the ritualistic lambasting and criticism of the supposed imperfections and the narrow minded idolization of the supposed perfect bodies...
something called the 25 most memorable swimsuit moments bring this to mind... the odd thing is that most of the people these media whores call hot or perfect are usually not attractive to me at all... though ok (oh kate), kate hudson is an exception...
ironically or not, it is my natural aversion to fat cuz instinctively i knew fat was a sign of laziness, apathy, low self-love, and unhealthy habits that lead to the lack of appeal for fat boobs (and that is what boobs are, the bigger they are, the more fat they contain, like it as most are trained to do or not), while a few inches below (abs) the slightest bit of fat is repulsive to most, which is completely illogical and another sign of the sheep-like blindness that most humans follow...
and let's not even mention that the show glorifies nipples and yet blurs them because, omigosh, we can't show nipples to children (ummm, breast feeding?... to debate the arbitrary definitions of sexy and sleazy, naughty and slutty, or whatever ridiculously (actually) meaningless words humans create to avoid these fears of sexuality and nudity, well, to me it's just stupidity... yeah, the illogic is so hypocritical as most fear-based thoughts are)... so i toss between laughing and feeling sad about this human fear and confusion...
oh, but they finish with phoebe, redemption?... though it was always her face that came first and her butt that came second for me, pun (and bun) not necessarilly intended (oh did i just give in to the attempt at a clever quip based on double entendre that growns with failure?... nyuk nyuk, right)...
maybe it's time to wake up and do something healthy, aye? :)

lucky idol
there is nothing good on tv up against idol except re-runs and i've seen the ones on tonight so i flip over to idol without enthusiasm to see how they are going to try to salvage this season and they so recognize the trouble they are in because for the first time they brought the people voted off by idol back to start the show and sure enough, three of the best voices were there... that was the best part of the show...
american idol loses to the losers...
it's partly the judges fault as they were cheerleaders for everyone and not providing real critique or differentiating in their cheering in all the shows i've seen so far... simon must be amused in so many ways (and he can afford the lower profits)... it is time for the judges get real (grow a pair) and actually criticize the poor song choices and limited talent of the remaining contestants... the rocker who probably has the most talent of those remaining will probably be the next to go if adam from last year who was more talented is any measure of the idol audience... cuz the teenie bopper girls using text message tricks to send mass-text messages to vote their boys into the top spots finally show through in the voting... no wonder simon left when he did...
going back to reruns of ncis cuz ziva and the rest are more fun to watch than the bland safe second rate singers left on this years american idol...
ok, just had to come back after reading such sensible truth about the show (and yes, i came back to listen to the show too cuz i am my own devil's advocate and want to see if there is any talent worth kicking the girls who should be the top three off the show... and sure enough, a whole lot of actual critique by the judges, suddenly... much better than the safe re-caps provided by usa today...
all in all, a disappointing reflection on american pop culture, but then, that's pop culture, as andy warhol may have pointed out best, pop is what is popular...

idol sucks
it is not a show i want to watch anymore (actually did not watch it this week cuz softball season started up again) because it is not a show that picks the best voice (adam's loss last year should have proven that, but this year is the last straw for me) or singer or performer, it is a show rigged by young techie kids, mostly little girls who know little about music or singing, who can mass-text for their favorite momentary heart-throb...
bye idol, simon must be laughing now...

ncaa championship?
wow, i couldn't keep my eyes on the tv even when i tried and i thought i'd want to watch the ncaa men's chamionship game but i've never seen such a poorly played chamionship game in any sport... 18% shooting for the game and that was with a big spurt in the forth quarter... through most of the game they had no (zero) points in the paint and were shooting under 10%... they went 1 for 20 shots from 2 point range before they hit their second 2 point shot in the second half... and they were leading 22-19 at halftime on a last second prayer three pointer... i feel sad for the butler team... heck of a night to have your worst game of the season, maybe ever...
and conneticutt was hardly any better... 53-41 final in a national championship?... pathetic... maybe this is the most mediocre ncaa bastketball year ever, or at least in a very long time... embarrasing all around... a number 8 team and a number 3 team in the championship and neither played like they belonged there...
wish it was not so...

being what where?
meanwhile, being human and stargate: universe keep me company when i have time to catch up on episodes and thank goodness for sci-fi, even though there is so little time and there are other shows that interest me much more, it is goo to have the time to wander into the creative play of the sci-fi mind...

cooking shows
ok, i;ve got to say it (or write it), even if it is not popular or even comes off as cynical... maybe the stupidest thing on television yet is the plethora of forced drama in the kitchen, i mean, come on people, it's just food and it's the eating that matters most... we cook thousands of meals a year, stress and curse and fight over each one and you won't last the year...
it is such forced fake drama it is nauseating...
cook yourself something that will bring pleasure to your taste buds and stomach and life and above all, leave the stress on the fake tv shows, aye? :)

yeah, friends
lol, yup, that's life in my head these days, or years, to be more precise... the past year or so, especially since jackson moved in (two years or so then?), the characters on ncis have become friends (cuz we share the show and it's always more fun to get into a show with a real world frield) in that sense of i care about them and want them to be real and stay in this life (even if they never become real offline)... they remind me of people i once knew, a little, even though there's not a pure libbo fantasy on the show...
it's also that the show is on several nights a week for most of the evening and i didn't watch it while it was on... so i relax when i get a few nights a week with my ncis friends play their parts in the show while cooking or cleaning or browsing the web or whatever... it's reached a point where i find an episode i've seen about every third episode, or maybe every fourth episode, but more and more, reruns... alas, it will come to an end eventually, but until it does, every new episode is getting to know my friends better...
some days are like that (life is illusion, after all :)
